BOUT THE WORLD CUP ROLLER FLY

The World Cup Roller Fly is the largest international competition kit fly for Birmingham Roller Pigeons. The Fly is made up of fanciers that enter the fly each year in regions around the world. In 1999 the World Cup Fly consisted of 738 kits entered in 6 countries, 24 regions, with 48 finalists in the WC Fly-off. Each region holds a Regional Fly whereby the best kit(s) qualify for the WC Fly-off. The WC Fly-off Judge, judges and scores each kit in the finals, crowning the kit with the highest score, the best competition kit in the world and World Cup Fly Champion. The winner of the World Cup Fly each year is awarded the honor of judging next years fly-off.

HOW THE WORLD CUP ROLLER FLY WORKS

Flyers, at the conclusion of their regional fly each year, elect someone in their region to represent them in the next years fly, as the new Regional Director (RD).  The RD promotes regional fly to the flyers, arranges and schedules the fly, and collects entry fee's for the region.

GETTING IN A WORLD CUP ROLLER FLY REGION

Anyone in an existing World Cup Roller Fly Region can enter the World Cup Roller Fly. In some cases it may not be feasible for the region to schedule you in the regional fly if you are not within a reasonable or affordable distance from other flyers. If that being the case, offer to pick up the judge and return him, which would relieve some of the burden. Try visiting flyers and establishing relationships, which may give others more incentive to go the extra miles, it's not a one way road in other words. If your not in and existing region then a petition to form a new region will have to be submitted to the WC General Coordinator, and voted on by the WC Executive Committee, view info on forming a new region.
